    Guest Speaker, Vietnam Prisoner of War, Retired U.S. Navy Captain Eugene "Red" McDaniel, Author of Scars and Stripes

    Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Tomlinson, Garrison Commander, invites you to the Fort Belvoir Memorial  Day Observance, Thursday, 24 May 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. We are truly honored to have as our guest speaker the author of "Scars and Stripes , retired U.S. Navy Captain Eugene B. "Red" McDaniel, his story is one of faith, and courage, in the face of unspeakable cruelty, and death as a POW in Vietnam, his remarks on the meaning of Memorial Day from his perspective and life experiences will serve as a reminder of the reasons we are a free people.

    The event will be on Long Parade Field in front of the Cold War Memorial, located at the Garrison Flag Pole on 21st Street between Flagler Road and Belvoir Road. Please join us as we honor and pay tribute to those that have made the ultimate sacrifice
