Name: Blanket and Coat Drive for Syrian Refugees
    Date: November 10, 2018 - December 9, 2018
    Event Description:
Since the 2011, the Syrian civil war was left over 6 million people displaced within Syria and another 5 million seeking safe haven as refugees, especially in neighboring countries or Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan. One of the biggest challenges facing these refugees is harsh winter conditions, which make the dire situation even worse.

Since 2013, Northern Virginia leaders and communies have united to collect and distribute blankets, coats, and winter clothing for Syrian and other reguress abroad. Together, we have sent over 100,000 blankets and coats to Turkey and Lebanon.

This year, NOVA Relief Center is accepting donations to distrute to three camps in Jordan: Mafraq, Jerash and Irbid. You can help make this event a success by making and collecting donations, giving gently used blankets and/or coats, and by volunteering. Thanks to the donated services of Paxton Van Lines and Maersk, all items will be shipped to the regufees in Jordan this winter, free of charge.
